Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 11,000 professionals, is looking for a Senior System Engineer to join one of our teams!

Responsibilities

Design, implement, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure and systems.
Provide Tier 2–3 technical support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Lead and execute infrastructure, cloud, and migration projects for new and existing
customers.
Plan, implement, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft-based environments.
Manage and maintain virtualization environments, including VMware, Nutanix, and
Hyper-V.
Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot backup and recovery solutions, including
Veeam.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network and security infrastructure, including
Firewalls.
Deploy and integrate infrastructure solutions in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud
environments.
Perform system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and ongoing infrastructure
improvements.
Work independently in complex and sensitive technical environments while maintaining
high service and security standards.
Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal technical teams to deliver end-to-end
infrastructure solutions.
Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and recommend appropriate
technical solutions

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator / System Engineer in an
enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft environments, including:
Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), Terminal Services / Remote VPN Services
Exchange / Exchange Online
Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID
Hands-on experience with Veeam — required.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization
environments, including VMware, Nutanix, or Hyper-V — required.
Experience with FortiGate and/or Check Point Firewalls, including implementation,
upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of networking and communication infrastructure, including hands
on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle Tier 2–3
infrastructure issues.
PowerShell scripting and automation experience — advantage.
Experience with NETAPP storage — advantage.
Experience with hybrid/cloud environments and infrastructure migrations — advantage.
Relevant certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Azure, CCNA, or equivalent —
strong advantage.
