Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 11,000 professionals, is looking for Senior Java Developer  to join one of our teams.

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our Mortgage Modernization unit. This is a full-time position within a strategic financial transformation program, offering the opportunity to work in a modern, cloud-based microservices architecture.

In this role, you will act as a senior technical contributor, providing technical guidance and support to the development team, contributing to the design and development of scalable backend services, integrating with enterprise systems, and supporting the delivery of high-quality software in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable Java-based backend services in a microservices architecture.
  • Contribute to system design ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and enterprise systems.
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to design and optimize data models.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams and participate in sprint activities and code reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other developers.
  • Support cloud-based development and CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on Java development experience within a team environment
  • Minimum 4 years of Proven experience in designing and developing microservices architectures
  • Minimum 4 years of Practical experience working with relational (SQL) databases
  • Minimum 3 years of Hands-on experience with cloud-based environments (any provider)
  • Minimum 3 years of Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA
  • Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
