Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 10,000 professionals, is looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to join one of our teams!

Our partner and client is a global technology leader in IoT-based platforms for security, healthcare, and senior care markets. With over 80 million devices deployed worldwide, our mission is to deliver innovative, cloud-connected solutions that empower people to live safer, more independent lives. Our products span smart home security, health monitoring, and emergency care-developed and manufactured in-house, from device to cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for our smart home security systems, focusing on the central hub and peripheral devices.
  • Work extensively with FreeRTOS , Embedded Linux (Yocto) and other embedded operating systems (Bare Metal) to develop and optimize system performance.
  • Implement and manage multi-process designs and networking protocols to ensure seamless communication between system components.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts and MySQL databases for system management and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system stability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful product integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field from a leading institute.
  • At least 5 years of experience in RT Embedded programming.
  • Strong Proficiency in C and modern C++ (C++14 and higher)
  • Experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux (Yocto) and other embedded operating systems (Bare Metal).
  • Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks : Claude code, Copilot, Codex,, including autonomous systems, decision-based intelligence, or context-aware agents.
  • Ability to integrate AI capabilities into software development processes, including design, coding, and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to identify opportunities to enhance development efficiency and product quality using AI-driven insights
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
  • Proficiency in Linux development, including shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of multi-process and multi-threading design concepts.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols such as MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, and TLS.
  • Hands-on experience with wireless communication technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and Zigbee.
  • Experience with ESP32 chips familiy (especially ESP32-P4)
  • Experience with cellular modems, including TELIT HE910 or similar modules.
  • Experience with Git for source control and version management.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Python for testing, automation, and scripting.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, including writing design documents, collaborating with hardware teams, and reporting progress.
