Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 11,000 professionals, is looking for a Node.js Developer to join one of our teams.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Node.js and TypeScript to develop and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services and middleware layers.

The role focuses on API and middleware development, authentication and authorization, third-party and enterprise integrations, BFF/API Gateway layers, business logic and database access. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of professional backend development experience and is comfortable designing, integrating and troubleshooting API flows across multiple systems and services.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
Design and implement API middleware, request/response pipelines, validation, error handling and routing.
Implement authentication and authorization middleware using JWT, OAuth and OpenID Connect.
Develop integrations with third-party APIs, identity providers and enterprise systems.
Develop and maintain API Gateway and proxy layers.
Implement backend business logic and database access.
Troubleshoot API flows across multiple services and existing production systems.

Requirements

3+ years of professional backend development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, middleware architecture and request/response lifecycle.
Experience developing authentication/authorization middleware and working with JWT, OAuth and OpenID Connect.
Experience with third-party API and enterprise system integrations.
Good SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
Experience with Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks.
Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman and Git.
