FinOps Analyst

About the job

We are looking for a talented FinOps Engineer to join our team in a customer-facing, technical role. In this position, you will be responsible for cloud cost monitoring and optimization, identifying trends and anomalies, and providing data-driven recommendations to enhance the cost-efficiency of our clients’ cloud infrastructure. As a trusted advisor, you will guide customers on tools, methodologies, and best practices to achieve optimal financial performance in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Review customers’ cloud infrastructure and provide monthly cost optimization reports.
  • Investigate each line item in cloud invoices and usage to understand the cost structure and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Optimize cloud performance to maximize cost efficiency, redistributing resources where needed.
  • Suggest cost-saving opportunities by recommending better rates or more efficient technologies.
  • Identify anomalies in usage patterns and provide timely feedback to help clients adjust and course-correct.
  • Create business intelligence reports to support the organization and empower teams in cost optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with customers on architectural design decisions to ensure cost-effective cloud usage.
  • Leverage real-time data to predict trends and make decisions to continuously optimize costs.
  • Stay up to date on the latest cloud products, technologies, and trends.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in AWS is required;
  • Background in DevOps, Solution Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Data-driven and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on testing, measuring, and refining optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and measuring cloud performance to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
